What's new

Every release, newest first — in plain words rather than commit subjects.

What's new

0.2.11

  • macOS: transcription refused to run with «only uncompressed 16-bit PCM is supported» — the app understood only one of the ways the system writes audio. It now understands every uncompressed variant
  • macOS: recordings get their trailing second of silence back — without it whisper swallowed the closing words when you stopped right after speaking
  • If a recording format is still unfamiliar, the error now names it instead of saying nothing useful

0.2.10

  • A new note opens straight in the visual editor. The first thing a writer saw used to be markup — asterisks and hashes; raw Markdown is still one button away
  • Windows: voice transcription fixed — the app was launching main.exe, which in current whisper builds is no longer a program but a stub that prints a warning and exits. It now picks whisper-cli.exe from the same folder
  • Windows: paths to temporary recordings are built with the native separator, so they no longer look truncated in error messages

0.2.9

  • Fixed updating on macOS: the file downloaded to the end and then vanished with «Cannot open file». The app had nowhere to put it — the download directory was never created
  • The downloaded image is now opened through the system rather than by launching another program: the sandbox forbids that, so the install would not have started even after a successful download
  • Updates download from a versioned URL — a cache could previously hand back the earlier build

0.2.8

  • On a wide screen the Notes, History and Profile sections moved into the left pane, next to the list. History and Profile open on the right while the list stays put — no need to find your folder again
  • Screens reached from the Profile — sync, trash, updates — also open on the right instead of covering the list
  • Clicking a note in History opens it on the right and marks it in the list on the left, walking to the folder it lives in
  • Fixed: the app could crash when a window or a note was closed — the save path reached for a screen that was already gone

0.2.7

  • Voice input on macOS: the 0.2.6 fix never reached a build — it failed to compile for Intel Macs. It now builds for both processor families, and the microphone works with nothing to install

0.2.6

  • Fixed: on macOS voice transcription did not start at all — the app runs sandboxed, and the sandbox forbids launching outside programs. Recognition is now built into the app itself: nothing to install, homebrew no longer needed

0.2.5

  • On a wide screen the note opens next to the list: folders and notes on the left, the selected note's text on the right
  • A note opens ready to edit — no need to press the pencil first. Those who prefer to read first can restore the old behaviour with a switch in the profile
  • Voice notes: a microphone button in the note, the recording is transcribed on the device itself, with no internet, and the text lands where the caret is. On desktop and on Android
  • Images in notes no longer waste memory: a photo is decoded at the size it is shown, not at full resolution
  • The note list opens faster: attachment badges take one query instead of one per row, and search no longer restarts on every letter typed
  • A drawing in a note is no longer re-read from disk on every keystroke
